Congratulations to Vern David P.M., 32nd, and now K.C.C.H
The Rank of Knight Commander of the Court of Honor is not a Degree, but an Investiture, bestowed upon members deserving recognition for faithful services to the Rite or to mankind. At the biennial session of the Supreme Council, certain Masters of the Royal Secret are chosen to be invested with the Rank and Decoration of Knight Commander of the Court of Honour. The respective Sovereign Grand Inspectors General or Deputies nominate members for this honor, and they must also be unanimously approved by The Supreme Council. This Investiture is a prerequisite to receiving the Thirty-third Degree. The Rank of K.∙.C.∙.C.∙.H.∙. may not be requested, and if requested must be refused. The cap of the Knight Commander Court of Honour is red with a darker red band trimmed in gold. In the center front is a representation of the Knight Commander Jewel, a Passion Cross with fancy arms, featuring in the center a trefoil embroidered in green encircled by "Kt.∙. Comm.∙. Court of Honour" embroidered in gold.
I talked to Vern and congratulated him. He says that this award is all the more meaningful to him as he thinks that Bro. Lee Olson nominated him before he recently passed away. Bro. Vern David has been a tireless worker and advocate of masonry in Kern County, he was a charter member of the Knights of St. Andrew, and is active in all levels of masonic development.

Knights of the North
The Knights of the North is a group dedicated to a return to traditional Masonic practices, and which endorses European Concept lodges or Traditional Observance lodges. Membership in KOTN is by invitation only, and is not limited to members of recognized Masonic groups. The organization is not established along the lines of traditional Masonic appendant bodies such as the York Rite (or Royal Arch), Scottish Rite or the Shriners, but as a loosely governed Masonic think tank. The group sponsors several educational websites, discussion forums and publications, and its members are active in research lodges and Internet Masonry.
There main treatise, Laudable Pursuit: A 21st Century Response to Dwight Smith, as it is known by its full name, is a paper written in 2005 by a group known as The Knights of The North. The document is 38 pages in length and is a response to two books written by M. W. Bro. Dwight Smith, past Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Indiana. Smith's two books, written in the early 1960s warned the Masonic fraternity of the direction it was headed - few heeded Smith's words. Laudable Pursuit has caught the hearts of many Masons today, however, there are those that find it too harsh in its criticisms. I feel that it is a must read and can be found here or an onlie video in 4 parts can be watched by following the links here.
